Inspiration to Pursue Law in Nigeria, Alberta, and Ontario
For me, law was always more than a profession, it was a bridge to possibility. Starting in Nigeria, I was determined to build a career that would not only allow me to practice at home but also give me the mobility to operate globally. When I moved to Canada, I wanted my legal career to be as relevant here as it was in Nigeria. Being licensed in Alberta and Ontario ensures I can serve diverse communities, and it reflects my belief that excellence knows no borders.

The Birth of Naijapreneur Canada
Naijapreneur Canada was born out of a deep desire to spotlight Nigerian-owned businesses that often go unnoticed in mainstream spaces. Many immigrants come here with dreams, resilience, and incredible talent, but visibility remains a challenge. My vision is to create a platform that amplifies these businesses, connects them with broader markets, and ultimately changes the narrative about what Nigerian entrepreneurs contribute to Canada.

Fashion as Self-Expression and the Klothier’s Zone Vision
Fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me. I have always been a fashionpreneur since my university days. As a lawyer, entrepreneur, and mother, I understand how much confidence comes from feeling good in what you wear. Klothier’s Zone by Shally is my way of helping women step into their elegance and power while embracing Afrocentric beauty. It’s not just clothing, it is culture, identity, and confidence stitched into every piece.

Staying Authentic as “Shally O”
Authenticity is my anchor. I only work with brands that align with my values and lifestyle. My audience trusts me because I share my real experiences including the highs, the struggles, and everything in between. For me, being “Shally O” isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing that you can be true to yourself while still building meaningful partnerships.

Motherhood’s Role in Business and Leadership
Motherhood has been my greatest teacher. It’s taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of creating a legacy beyond myself. When I lead or build a business, I do it with the mindset of nurturing growth, whether it’s in my children, my team, or the communities I serve. Being a mother has made me more compassionate, but also more focused and intentional with my time.

Challenges for Immigrant Entrepreneurs in Canada
The biggest challenges are visibility, access to funding, and navigating unfamiliar systems. Many immigrant entrepreneurs have world-class ideas but struggle to plug into the right networks. To overcome this, we need more mentorship, more collaboration, and platforms—like Naijapreneur Canada—that amplify our voices. I also encourage entrepreneurs to keep learning, adapting, and telling their stories boldly.

Wearing Many Hats Without Burning Out
I’ve learned that balance isn’t about doing everything at once; it’s about prioritizing what matters in each season. I delegate, I plan, and most importantly, I give myself permission to rest. I lean on my faith, my family, and a strong support system. At the end of the day, I remind myself that I don’t have to be perfect, I just have to be present.

What Makes Me a Woman of Rubies
I believe what makes me a Woman of Rubies is resilience. My story is one of reinvention and navigating different countries, careers, and seasons of life, while staying true to my values. Like a ruby, I shine brightest under pressure. I carry my scars and my victories with pride because they both form the woman I am today.
