‎‎In a landmark development for youth empowerment and technological ‎advancement in Oyo State, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, is set to officially unveil the OWOADE STEM, AI & Robotics Centre, a pioneering initiative aimed at equipping the younger generation with cutting-edge skills in robotics, artificial ‎intelligence, and applied Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

‎The Centre is designed to transform the local innovation landscape, providing practical training ‎that directly enhances employability, fosters entrepreneurship, and accelerates business ‎automation across farms, industries, and small enterprises in Oyo. ‎

Students and young professionals will gain hands-on exposure to STEM applications, ensuring the State’s youth are
‎prepared to compete in the global knowledge economy.

‎Stanchion TM Consults NG, under the leadership of Dr. Temitope Akinsemoyin, has been named the official management and strategic development partner for the project. Stanchion TM ‎will oversee all operational, programmatic, and partnership aspects of the Centre, bringing its proven expertise in public-private collaboration, enterprise growth, and youth-focused initiatives.

‎Notably, the firm has previously partnered with the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ‎(OSSAP – Humanitarian), delivering high-impact poverty alleviation and youth development
‎programs.

‎“The OWOADE STEM Centre represents a transformative opportunity for Oyo’s youth and ‎businesses. By equipping our young people with real-world STEM and AI skills, we are building a future-ready workforce while fostering local innovation,” said Akinsemoyin.

‎African Group NG has been appointed as the construction partner for Phases 1 and 2 of the Centre, tasked with developing a modern, practical, and scalable facility. Penfruge Global Limited, with a track record of successful collaboration with international organisations such as ‎GIZ, UNDP, and ILO, will support implementation and capacity-building components.

‎The Centre will also benefit from international expertise through partnerships with IBMKP Global Australia, alongside Australian and Nigerian technology partners, ensuring access to cutting-edge STEM kits, robotics equipment, and global best practices. ‎The launch, coinciding with the Alaafin’s first anniversary on the throne, underscores the palace’s commitment to innovation, youth empowerment, and strategic economic development.
