“Wealth creation gives women a voice, confidence and greater capacity to influence their communities”
The Guardian Woman Festival is gearing up for the 2027 edition, hosted by Federal Palace Resort. This will hold under the theme “Women as Wealth Creators,” spotlighting women’s economic power, financial independence, entrepreneurship and their role in driving sustainable growth.
Eniola Peter, a seasoned HR professional with over 12 years of experience, speaks on empowering women and youths to reach their full potential while harping on the festival’s theme.
Take us through your career path?
My career has really been a journey of discovering my passion for helping people find their place and thrive. After university, I naturally found myself helping friends and people around me get jobs. I discovered recruitment and realised I genuinely enjoyed connecting people to opportunities that aligned with their skills and aspirations. That passion eventually led me to work with Jobberman, where I gained deeper experience in recruitment, talent management and understanding the relationship between people and organisations.
Over time, I noticed a recurring gap: many talented people were struggling to get jobs, not necessarily because they lacked ability, but because they lacked workplace readiness, confidence, the right positioning and employability skills. That observation inspired me to establish MEG Consults, an HR and career development firm focused on helping individuals and organisations thrive. Through MEG Consults and initiatives like Ready Set Work, I have trained and mentored thousands of young people, helping them become more prepared for the world of work.
My journey has also expanded into empowering women through Women in Career Advancement Network (WICAN), and through my work with Chayil Lady Ministry, where I focus on helping women grow in identity, purpose, career and life.
What does women creating wealth mean to you?
To me, women creating wealth goes beyond earning money. It means women having the capacity to create value, own assets, build businesses and careers, make financial decisions and create opportunities that outlive them. It is also about moving from merely earning income to building something sustainable that gives you choices, provides for your family and creates opportunities for others. I believe wealth creation gives women a voice, confidence and greater capacity to influence their communities.
How are you creating sustainable wealth as a woman?
I am building sustainable wealth by intentionally creating multiple streams of value, rather than depending on one source of income. Through MEG Consults, I have built a business around my expertise in HR, recruitment and career development. I also invest in intellectual property through my books, training programmes, conferences and communities.
WICAN and my other initiatives allow me to build communities and platforms that create economic opportunities for women, while my work in youth employability allows me to invest in the next generation. For me, sustainable wealth is not just about what I can earn today. It is about building systems, businesses, intellectual property, relationships and impact that can continue to create value tomorrow.
What is your charge to other women on living purposefully?
My charge is simple: do not live a life that is merely busy; live a life that is intentional. Purpose is not always one big, dramatic discovery. Sometimes it unfolds through the things you are passionate about, the problems you are uniquely positioned to solve and the people whose lives you are called to impact.
Give yourself permission to grow, evolve and start again when necessary. Don’t measure your journey against another woman’s timeline. And most importantly, don’t wait until everything is perfect before you begin. Start with what you have, where you are, and keep becoming. Because a purposeful woman doesn’t just ask, “What can I get from life?” She also asks, “What can my life give?”
