
This spicy and flavourful broth is best served with rice. It’s a nice combo for when you want to give yourself a treat – especially if you are a catfish lover. Your family will definitely love this treat as it is different from the regular household dishes.

Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1 large onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 cloves garlic
- A handful of diced tomatoes
- 3 cups shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Minced 4 cubes beef bouillon
- A handful of sliced okra
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dry crab boil
- 2 pounds catfish fillets, adequately cut into pieces
- 5 cups hot water

Preparation
- Chop all fresh spice on the list above and set aside.
- Warm oil in medium heat; stir in onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic.
- Cook until soft, about 10 minutes.
- Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water and add to pot.
- Add tomatoes, okra, shrimp and stir. Season with salt, cayenne pepper, thyme, bay leaves, and crab boil.
- Bring to a boil; cover, and allow to simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the catfish to the pot, cover and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove and serve with boiled white or brown rice.
