PVC: Fashola Suspends January Environmental Sanitation Exercise To Enhance Collection
… Urges Residents To Keep Their Environment Clean, Obey Sanitation Laws
LAGOS State Governor Babatunde Fashola Friday directed the suspension of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for this month due to hold today to enable residents to go and collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in their various wards and polling centres across the state.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Aderemi Ibirogba, disclosed that the governor said the suspension was necessitated by the numerous complaints of registered voters in the state that they were yet to collect their cards, urging such people to devote today to go and collect their cards.
The statement, however, called on residents to ensure that they maintain a clean environment and obey all the existing sanitation laws of the state, including not dumping refuse in unauthorised places.
He added that there will be no restrictions of movement today on account of the exercise.
