URGING the military to ensure that it routs out terrorism from the country, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai yesterday, tasked men of the Nigerian Army to sustain the tempo in the fight against Boko Haram.

El-Rufai made the call while speaking as guest speaker at the Battle Inoculation and Fire Power Demonstration, Camp Highland exercise for cadets of Short Service Course (SSC) 43 (Army), Kachia in Kaduna.

The governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr. Barnabas Bala Bantex, said, he was impressed with the courage and commitment displayed by the cadets during the exercise.

He also commended the successes recorded by the joint security operatives leading to the recovery of over 5,000 animals from cattle rustlers in the state.

El-Rufai said: “I’m impressed by the courage and commitment displayed by the cadets. And I believe this is the military that we always know, but I think what we need to do is to give them political backing that will make them succeed in their efforts to rid this country of all forms of criminality.”
