PVC: Ita-Giwa, Bakassi People Laud Polls Postponement
FORMER Special Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo on National Assembly Matters, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, and the Bakassi people have revealed that the change in election dates is an act of God which will enable her people collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and elect their preferred leaders at the Dayspring Island where they registered.
Ita-Giwa said that if the Independent National Electoral Commission had gone ahead with the earlier dates, her people would have been disenfranchised because over 70 per cent have not collected their PVC.
The statement reads in parts: “The poll postponement is a blessing because it will now afford my people the opportunity of voting on March 28 and in April. The few that have collected theirs are those in the refugee camp and their neighbours.
