Energy Capital & Power (ECP) (https://EnergyCapitalPower.com/) is proud to announce that Eric A. Williams, former Minister for Energy in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and current President and Principal Consultant at Royal Triangle Energy Solutions, will be speaking at the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference & Exhibition (https://bit.ly/3xlzIiz) in Senegal on 1 to 2 September this year.

With the conference’s main theme being “The Future of Natural Gas: Growth Using Strategic Investment and Policymaking,” Williams’ unique insights over thirty years across Africa and in his home nation will be essential in advancing dialogue on Africa’s energy future.

Having produced three billion barrels of oil, Trinidad and Tobago successfully transitioned to a gas-dominant industry in the 1990s.

The country now boasts one of the largest gas processing facilities in the Western Hemisphere, with a two billion cubic feet per day capacity.

The island nation is the world’s largest exporter of ammonia from a single site – a chemical vessel for green hydrogen – and derives over 1/3 of its GDP from its energy sector. It also launched a trailblazing new Gas Master Plan in 2015 with a strong focus on liquefied natural gas (LNG) development.

With almost $10 billion worth of LNG developments slated to start production in the MSGBC region next year, expecting 2.5 million tons’ output from Senegal alone, Williams and his nation’s insight into this emergent energy source will be crucial to unlocking Senegal, Mauritania, and their neighbours’ full potential. Markets opening up in Europe have sparked a surge in investor interest in the past few months alone, aided by the labelling of gas as green by the EU and LNG’s 30% lower carbon footprint than heavy fuel oils.

Before his most recent assignment Senior LNG consultant to the Minister at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Minerals and Energy in Mozambique, Williams held an unparalleled pan-African perspective of the burgeoning superfuel liquefied natural gas. This perspective is central to the possibilities that MSGBC gas resources have for the socio-economic development of the host countries.

With H.E. Macky Sall, President of Senegal (https://bit.ly/3mh5Iht) and current Chairperson African Union opening the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference this year, we can expect to see an unprecedented pan-African reach for the event. In addition, top industry players and investment delegations are flocking in from across Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East to finance and participate in the fruition of the region’s world-class industry.

ECP’s International Conference Director, Sandra Jeque, notes that, “Williams is a true thought leader in African energy. His wisdom at this pivotal time in the MSGBC gas rush (https://bit.ly/3xkFH7e) is invaluable. Leading the push towards local content and LNG, Williams and his home nation of Trinidad and Tobago have much to share with the region, shaping strategic directions for the future of energy through gas policy and investment.”
