Executive Director of Hope for the Masses Foundation, Oluwatomisin Badewole, in a statement ahead of Nigeria Grassroot Governance Summit and Award (NIGGSA) 2024, emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and managing diversity in ensuring inclusive governance and equitable development.
She noted that the event, which would be held on October 30, 2024, under the theme ‘Sustainable Grassroot Governance: The Panacea for a Resilient Democracy and Progressive Economy,’ will bring together policymakers, national, state, and local government leaders, traditional rulers, development experts, and civil society stakeholders to explore solutions for inclusive.
She said that the summit would focus on critical topics such as sustainable development, community engagement, capacity building, and how effective governance at the grassroots level can promote national unity and economic resilience.
According to Badewole, the event will feature an awards ceremony recognising the outstanding contributions of local government leaders in Lagos and Ogun States to grassroots governance.
She stressed that the awards would be presented to local government chairmen and organisations that have demonstrated exemplary leadership and a commitment to improving the welfare of their communities.
