With the desire to create a positive impact in the world, the Caring Hearts Initiative (CHI) has raised the hope of vulnerable children and their families through its new project for a proper early childhood program.

Tagged the ‘Heroes of CHI’, the programme promised to inspire hope and foster connections to raise about N30 million for over 123 vulnerable children in nursery and primary schools, bursaries and scholarships for 32 tertiary institution students, and essential monthly drug and food support for 950 vulnerable children from 360 households through the sale of the raffle.

With the theme, ‘Champions for Children Raffle’, the initiative, organised by the International Church of Christ (ICOC) Nigeria, said it remained committed to the mission of making a tangible difference in the lives of the most vulnerable, for one child at a time.

Board Chairman of CHI, Imagbe Igbinoba, said the launch of the project was to raise funds through sales of raffle tickets, calling on participants that their support would play a crucial role in turning the group’s vision into reality.

Also, a member of the board, Anthony Osakwe, who introduced the purpose of the fundraising event, reiterated the importance of the ECD programme, which he said focuses on the holistic development of children from prenatal to age six/eight, encompassing their physical, cognitive, linguistic, socio-emotional and spiritual growth.

While presenting the mechanics of the raffle, Sola Scott, submitted that the goal was to raise at least N30 million through the sale of 30,000 tickets, structured into booklets containing 20 tickets each.

He said the funds raised would support the ECD programme’s various initiatives, adding: “An innovative aspect of this fundraising effort is the all-digital payment method, allowing contributions from Nigerians and the people in diaspora in any currency, with cash payments not being entertained.”

The Guardian gathered that the raffle draw event, which is scheduled for November 13, 2024, promises to be an exciting culmination of the impactful initiative.
