How PalmPay’s solutions protected me against fraud – varsity student
For Dorcas Uchenna, a 300 level student of Microbiology Lagos State University (LASU), managing money as an undergraduate has never been an easy task.
Between juggling lectures, assignments, and tight budget, she added fear of online fraud made digital transactions almost impossible.
Speaking with The Guardian in commemoration of International Fraud Awareness Week, Uchenna observed there are stories of scams everywhere; friends falling victim to identity theft, classmates duped by fake online stores, and even cases where fake messages were sent to a colleagues’ contact list requesting for financial assistance.
Saying fraudulent activities has become so rampant, she added, “I was cautious but constantly worried that I could be next. That anxiety disappeared the day I discovered PalmPay.”
Speaking further, she added, “it all started when a course mate recommended the app, explaining how reliable and secure it was for managing money.
“Initially skeptical, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made as a student. PalmPay didn’t just make my transactions faster but also gave me a sense of control and security. The app’s secure features like instant transaction notifications and secure payment systems, made me feel protected in ways I’d never experienced before.” She noted.
With the regular safety messages on their communication platforms, Uchenna further recalled, ‘I keep learning how to identify fictitious messages. One incident stands out vividly, I watched one of their online live shows that admonished users to beware of fraudulent social media handles. That same week, I almost fell victim to a scammer page but thankfully, I was equipped with the right knowledge. Thanks to PalmPay.”
Describing the app has indispensable part of her routine, from paying bills to sending money to family members, she added PalmPay’s cashback rewards and savings tools have also helped her stretch her budget further, allowing her to manage daily expenses like meals and transport more effectively.
In a world where fraud is becoming increasingly sophisticated, Uchenna suggested having a platform like PalmPay that prioritizes user safety is a game-changer.
To her, it’s not just about transactions, but reliability, security, and building a lifestyle where people can thrive without fear.
