The Managing Director of LD&D Consulting, a leading recruiting firm, David Osinowo, has urged federal, state, and non-governmental organisations to synergise in combating soaring youth unemployment in the country.

Speaking during the ‘Biggest Lagos Job Fair,’ Osinowo, who is the convener of the fair, said there was an urgent need for the tiers of governments, as well as non-governmental agencies, to support initiatives such as this by working together in addressing youth unemployment.

Expressing concern about the nation’s unemployment rate, Oshinowo, said: “I was moved to bridge the gap between job seekers and potential employ what most youths fail to understand is that due to the brain drain or ‘Japa’ syndrome in the country, organisations like Etransact, Axa Mansard, and the Concept Group, among others, need more manpower.”

The convener, however, stressed the need to replicate the initiative urging the federal government and other organisations to provide avenues to bring job seekers and employers together.

A facilitator and human resources professional, Anjola Ayodele, commended the initiative while advising fresh graduates to start their job search immediately after graduation, even with no work experience.
