Frot Foundation hosts ‘Artists Connect Africa’ targeting creative sector growth

In driving creative growth within the African visual arts sector, the Frot Foundation, in partnership with Dr. Foladavid and Ken Nwadiogbu is spearheading an initiative, ‘ Artists Connect Africa’to empower and unite talents across African region.

The initiative, now in its second edition will be fostering artistic excellence and youth development as African artists converge at Nordic Hotel, Lagos on March 15.

Founder and chairman of the Frot Foundation, Chief Frank Momoh stated that the event positioned as the largest gathering of visual artists in Africa is a source of encouragement and support to young visual artists, with a framework of sustainability and continuity where development and a successful career is ensured.

He expressed further that the initiative reflects the Foundation’s dedication to supporting emerging artists, while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Africa.

“The event will offer a platform for professional development through art exhibitions, panel discussions, and keynote speeches, featuring insights from industry leaders. As highlight of the event is afully funded art residencies at EVVDEE Art Academy for 15 selected artists, whose selection will be assessed by competent judges including Olufemi Oguntamu and Jess Castellote.

“Speakers, including Special Assistant to Nigeria’s President on Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Ayo Adeagbo and visual artist, Victor Ehikhamenor will be addressing critical aspects of the African art market, including creative entrepreneurship and future industry trends”, Momoh added.
