A new reality show, Ground Zero, designed to showcase the resilience and determination of Nigerians in their pursuit of success, is set to premiere on March 16.

The show will be available on YouTube and across all social media platforms is produced by 36Media and Mango Tree Media.

The show aims to provide a raw and emotional insight into the struggles of building a livelihood from scratch.

CEO of 36Media, Emmanuel Agbaeze, and one of the show’s organisers, revealed that Ground Zero will test participants’ survival skills and entrepreneurial abilities in a high-stakes environment.

Describing it as a groundbreaking concept, Agbaeze stated that the show would take audiences on an intense journey of survival, business acumen, and resourcefulness.

“The first season follows a single participant who is dropped into an unfamiliar city with absolutely nothing no money, no contacts, and no resources. The mission is to earn N1 million from absolute zero, with no safety nets or assistance from known individuals,” he explained.

According to Agbaeze, the participant must rely entirely on skills, creativity, and determination to succeed, with every challenge, setback, and triumph captured on screen.

“The participant is given only basic essentials in a small backpack and a mobile phone but cannot disclose being part of a reality show or seek help from personal connections. Survival depends entirely on strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to generate income through small businesses, freelancing, or business deals,” he added.

Viewers Agbaeze said can also expect daily challenges that test the participant’s resourcefulness, such as trading small items for higher-value goods or selling a set number of products within 24 hours.

These tasks he noted will help the participant earn points, which will be converted into cash, contributing to the N1 million target within 30 days.

Olukayode Adegbola of Mango Tree Media, another key organiser, emphasised that the show resonates deeply with Nigerians, as it reflects real-life economic struggles and offers valuable lessons in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving.

“Many Nigerians face economic challenges daily, making the show’s premise highly relatable. It serves as both a motivational tool and an educational platform, encouraging viewers to think outside the box,” Adegbola said.

Encouraging audiences to tune in, he added, “Nothing can prepare you for this unforgettable journey of grit, hustle, and survival.”
