Murphy Ben International (MBI), led by Chief Executive Officer, Murphy Anawana, is expanding its offerings with the launch of Aforevo.com, a streaming platform dedicated to African cinema. Aforevo is already Africa’s largest YouTube partner with over 1.2 billion global views annually and now, Aforevo.com will serve as a dedicated movie directory, showcasing trailers and providing direct access to a vast library of African films on YouTube.

MBI and its sister company, AFOREVO (an acronym for African Online Revolution), were founded to reshape global perceptions of Africa. AFOREVO has since become one of Africa’s largest YouTube aggregators, managing over 300 million monthly views globally and 30 million monthly views in Nigeria with an average watch time of 14.30 hours.

With the launch of Aforevo.com, MBI247.com continues to ensure that people all over the world can connect to rich Afrocentric content. As part of its commitment to supporting African filmmakers, MBI actively participates in key industry events such as the Nigeria International Film Summit (held in France, Lagos, and London), MIPCOM Cannes in November and the British Film Institute (BFI) in October and the African International Film Festival holding from the 3rd – 9th of November. These engagements help MBI build and maintain partnerships and expand access to African content.

Aforevo.com will continue to meet the growing demand for African cinema by offering a user-friendly directory where audiences can easily discover Nigerian and African films. As Murphy Anawana explains, “Aforevo will not just be a platform for Africans; it will also give Black creators from around the world an opportunity to share stories that celebrate African heritage and culture with the world.”

One of MBI’s subsidiaries Vybz FM is also making strides in the industry with over 1.5 million monthly listeners. Vybz FM recently announced that they will be present at the upcoming Lagos Women Run 2024 as a media partner.

In addition, MBI plans to launch an exclusive Video on Demand (VOD) platform – Revo+. Revo+ is a premium VOD dedicated to providing creatives with a dedicated African-owned distribution platform to monetise and democratise the global distribution of premium black content. This will allow audiences to enjoy a curated selection of films for instant viewing.

MBI serves as a leading streaming content creator, connecting audiences with original Nigerian movies and music. They have created several platforms that will ensure the delivery of high-quality entertainment to Nigeria and the global market.
