Nigeria artiste, Ajakaiye Sunday, known as Kaiyee has commended the Nigerian Army for its effort in unravelling the mysterious disappearance of Christiana Idowu.

Christiana Idowu, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, was kidnapped between Ikorodu and Yaba in Lagos State before she was murdered by her abductor.

On August 19, 2024, Idowu was declared missing after her parents were contacted by her abductors using her own WhatsApp contact. The first contact with the parent was established around 8:49.p.m after which they sent photos of the victim in captivity to them using the WhatsApp ‘view once’ feature.

It was disclosed that intelligence operatives were able to uncover the location of the abductor through the BVN and account details used in collecting ransom from the family.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Lagos State Police Command took 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye, into custody after he was handed over to the Command by the Nigerian Army.

Reacting, Kaiyee said: “I would like to commend the Nigerian Army for their swift action in tracing and arresting the individual responsible for the heartbreaking death of Christiana Idowu, a promising student of FUNAAB. This is a difficult time for her family, friends, and the entire nation, but we trust that the Nigerian police will take the next step in delivering the justice that Christiana deserves.

“No family should ever have to endure such pain. Christiana was kidnapped, held for ransom, and tragically murdered despite all efforts to save her. This act is one of cowardice and brutality, and we cannot allow it to become the norm in our society. We must rise, as one nation, to demand justice for Christiana.

He added: “I urge all authorities involved to ensure that this case is not forgotten, let us keep the conversation going until justice is served.

“As an artiste in Nigeria, I am raising my voice for justice. This is not just about Christiana. This is about every young person in Nigeria who deserves to walk the streets safely, pursue their dreams, and live without fear.
