Noonzi reflects on journey from choirboy to rising music sensation, set to unveil album

Fast-rising Nigerian music sensation, Noonzi, has revealed that his debut album is scheduled for release later in 2025.

The Lagos-born artist, whose roots trace back to Zaria, Kaduna State, shared this exciting news in a recent interview.

Noonzi’s journey into music began at a tender age, starting from his primary school choir days, where he also showcased his talents in acting, dancing and stage performance. Reflecting on his early musical influences, Noonzi mentioned legendary icons such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Michael Bublé as key inspirations.

“My sound is a fusion of R&B, Afrobeats, and Jazz,” Noonzi explained, emphasizing his unique blend of genres. He attributed his distinctiveness in the industry to his resilience and life experiences.

On his creative process, Noonzi described his reliance on positive energy, good weather, and the presence of uplifting company. He also shared insights into how he balances his personal life with his career.

“I prioritise and focus on what brings value into my life,” he stated. “Fitness and health help my mind focus on the important things.”

Despite facing criticism throughout his career, Noonzi maintains a positive outlook. “I face criticism all the time; however, it’s not always negative. I believe it makes you better in so many ways,” he remarked.

As part of his future aspirations, Noonzi expressed interest in collaborating with top industry stars, including Tiwa Savage, Muni Long, Davido, Tyla, and Chris Brown.

When asked about his biggest lesson in the music industry, Noonzi admitted, “I wished I had known the importance of investing in marketing.”
