Odichika Silas’ LC and Cheeks stuns at Lagos Fashion week

The highly anticipated fashion event, Lagos Fashion Festival, was held on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The event featured various Nigerian fashion designers, including Kudos Clothing, The Joel Brand, Ameerah Clothing Empire, LC and Cheeks, among many other fashion designers.

A quick review of the runway show distinguishes Mrs. Odichika Silas’ LC and Cheeks as the most inclusive brand of the night, as her runway session saw a representation of plus size, religious, and style variants.

Her session was highly received with applause and delight. The outfits on display were cut from various African fabrics and pieces. The designs included coordinates, abayas, party ensembles, and a collage of urban and contemporary styles.

According to Ms. Kemi, a team member of the fashion show, LC and Cheeks is the first brand to feature over 10 plus-size models on the runway. Looking back at the GTBank Fashion show in September, a plus-size model called out fashion designers for not giving plus-size models a chance during their past events on social media.

This time around, LC and Cheeks seized the opportunity to showcase models that represented the average conservative and religious market. They used their showcase session to prove that everybody was welcome to the fashion industry.
