Omu Resort to host second edition of Christmas in Delta
Omu Resort, organisers of the Christmas in Delta, have announced the second edition of the 45-day Christmas festival, which would be hosted in Delta State.
Originating in 2023, the inaugural celebration captivated the hearts of numerous attendees and visitors.
Anticipated to run from December 1st, 2024, until January 14th, 2025, this year’s edition is projected to draw in an impressive crowd exceeding one million visitors.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse array of entertainment options meticulously curated for their enjoyment. Festivities are set to kick off with a magnificent Christmas light-up ceremony at the enchanting Christmas Village in Asaba, with the presence of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Emphasising tourism, entertainment, culture, and commerce, Christmas in Delta is poised to act as a harbinger of economic growth, contributing significantly to the State’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Notable highlights of the event include a novelty soccer match uniting Super Eagles players of Delta origin with Delta Nollywood stars, in addition to an art exhibition titled the “Asaba Art Exhibition.”
Other events include car drifting show featuring top drifters in the nation; Warri city carnival, slated for December 22nd; Warri christmas experience; Shekere Praise & Worship on December 24th. The climax of the festivities is set to be a grand synchronized fireworks spectacle simultaneously illuminating all of Delta State’s local government areas during the Delta Fireworks Display Night. Attendees can also look forward to DJ Rave and the Osubi End-of-Year Concert to conclude the celebrations.
Speaking on behalf of the event organiser, Daniel Eguyenga, shared insight into this year’s program, highlighting the addition of several new attractions aimed at enhancing the overall experience for attendees. These fresh inclusions, promise to offer a renewed sense of excitement and entertainment for visitors to Delta State.
