Zubi …Zen voice zooming to stardorm

Since his latest single, “E Sure For Me,” tore through the internet, prominent Nigerian-American artiste Zubi has been basking at the top. As the young musician continues to soar, his golden voice has been making its way into the homes of music lovers across Nigeria and the US.

Based in the United States, Zubi ranks as one of the most resourceful newcomers in the music scene. His vocals, songwriting, and delivery have earned him critical acclaim for always having a ‘Midas Touch’.

In a chat with Guardian, he retells his journey into the music scene which began “During the lockdown…I spent a lot of time trying to find myself as an Artist and trying to find my sound. It’s been a beautiful journey since then.”

With its mid-tempo magic, “E Sure For Me,” shines for its aspirational lyricism and emotive delivery. The song continues to generate buzz within the metropolis’ underground music scenes.

“It is my motivational song to remind myself things will work out. I was in a place of doubt when I wrote the song. I was doubting if I really wanted to go into music or not, but I believe God has shown me that this is what I am meant to do.

What’s sure for me is sure for me, it does not matter what anybody else says.”

Citing some of his influences within the Nigerian music space, he says, “Definitely BNXN, I like and relate to his music a lot. He is one of the artistes I draw inspiration from. I also have Omah Lay and Zinoleesky as well”.

As Zubi zooms towards a potential stardom, he assures that his next steps would see him releasing a new song, making new music video, and releasing his sophomore EP.
