Immigration confirms Bobrisky’s arrest at Seme border

The Nigerian Immigration Service service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, while attempting to flee to Benin Republic.

According to reports, Bobrisky was arrested on Monday morning at the Seme border when he attempted to enter the Benin Republic to escape an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives.

However, the immigration service confirmed the news on its official ‘X’ platform, saying he was arrested because he is a person of interest, over recent issues of public concern.

“The service wishes to inform the public that OKUNEYE IDRIS is a person of interest, over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogations and would be handed over to the appropriate authorities, for further actions, the statement read.

Prior to the announcement by the NIS, social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) shared a video on his Instagram page alleging that the cross dresser was in the custody of the NIS, and also daring him to refute the claims.

“Bobrisky has been Arrested this morning at the seme border while trying to enter BENIN REPUBLIC to escape the current investigation by the house of reps. He is allegedly being held be the Nigeria immigration…MAKE WE WAIT FOR BOB TO DEBUNK. Cho Cho Cho,” VDM said in the video.

While Bobrisky is yet to respond to the confirmation of his arrest by the NIS, this revelation brings a new twist to the ongoing investigations about the crossdresser allegedly paying a bribe to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky was released from prison on August 5 after serving out a six-month jail term, following his sentencing on April 12 for violating laws regarding the abuse of the Naira notes.
