The Nigerian men’s 4x400m team have been disqualified from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for stepping on the line in their heat.
Nigeria will no longer compete in the final of men’s 4x400m.
“Nigeria have been disqualified from the Men’s 4x400m relay final for a lane violation in the semi-final,” Super Sport wrote.
South Africa will now race in the final of this event on Saturday night.
Team Nigeria quartet of Ifeanyi Ojeli, Dubem Amene, Ezekiel Nathaniel and Chidi Okezie finished second in their 4x400m semi-final to book a place in the final.
They ran a season’s best 2:59.81mins, finishing only behind France.
