The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has expelled Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, the female student who allegedly assaulted a lecturer over a TikTok video.
The details of her expulsion were communicated in a statement on Friday by Victor Modebelu, UNIZIK acting registrar.
The announcement came after the management concluded its investigation into a confrontation between her and a lecturer which reportedly escalated into a physical altercation.
The incident took place on Tuesday, 4th February 2025, at the university’s Faculty of Arts, involved Dr. Chukwudi Michael and a student who was allegedly recording a video when the lecturer intervened.
Witnesses claim the student was dancing and filming a TikTok video along the corridor when the lecturer, attempting to pass by, tapped her on the shoulder and said, “Excuse me.”
Eyewitnesses recounted that the student reacted angrily, saying, “Can you imagine how he just hit me?” This quickly led to a heated argument and a struggle, during which the student reportedly grabbed the lecturer’s clothes and allegedly bit him on the wrist and arm. Attempts to de-escalate the situation by onlookers were unsuccessful, leading to commotion in the area.
A viral video circulating online captured the moment the student was dancing and the lecturer attempted to pass by, prompting her reaction.
