Indigenous ride-hailing operator to tackle hidden charges
Drop Innovations Limited has said that it’s dedicated to transforming transportation across Nigeria and beyond by offering efficient, safe, and customer-centric services.
With technology and a customer-first approach, Drop aims to revolutionise how people move, offering personal chauffeurs, instant rides, car rentals, and dispatch services all within one platform.
Founder and CEO of Drop Innovations Limited, Moyosore Oladeinde, at the launch of the service, said she delved into the industry with an intent to right some of the wrongs and lapses she experienced as a rider over time.
“I came into this system with a background knowledge of what other e-hailing cab companies lack. I had a terrible experience with a certain company. I tried contacting their customer care to resolve the issue, but I met with brick walls. I waited for them to make corrections. But they did not. So, I decided I might as well just do it. Then again, there is no wrong time to do the right thing. So, why not? She stated.
“One thing we shall do differently is with drivers vetting procedures. The company will be as thorough with that as the commercial banks do with knowing their customers. This will involve updated biometrics and other security measures, especially with the drivers,” she said.
She also said the company is in talks with some car dealing companies to provide vehicles for drivers on a finance arrangement which will be fully paid in five years. This move is expected to reduce vehicle breakdowns and help the drivers deliver better. She also added that Drop Innovations Limited intends to commence operations with one thousand vehicles each in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja in the first six months of operation.
“Our mission at Drop Innovations Limited is to redefine transportation by delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable mobility solutions that prioritise customer satisfaction.
“We aim to build a community of trust between our drivers, passengers, and partners, ensuring convenience, safety, and efficiency in every journey.
“To become the leading ride-hail and mobility platform in Nigeria and Africa, setting the standard for customer-focused, technology-driven transportation services.
“Our vision is to contribute to a future where transportation is effortless, secure, and accessible to all,” she said. Also speaking, Commissioner of Transportation, Lagos, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said: “As you embark on this ambitious endeavour. We are urging the management and staff of Drop Innovations Limited to prioritise compliance with the existing regulations and policies outlined by the Lagos State Government. These regulations are designed to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of passengers, drivers, and the wider community.
“Adhering to them will not only bolster your reputation but also foster public confidence in your services.” Osiyemi, who was represented by the Director of Transport Operations, Olasunkanmi Ojowuro, added: “The Ministry is committed to working collaboratively with your organisation to create an environment that encourages innovation while ensuring adherence to safety standards, ethical practices, and fair competition. All ride-hailing services must operate with transparency and accountability. This will not only protect the interests of consumers but also contribute to the sustainable growth of the sector.”
“Let us be reminded that the future of transportation in Lagos depends on harmonious relationships built on mutual respect between regulatory bodies and service providers. As ambassadors of this sector, we have a shared responsibility to reinforce best practices that promote safety and excellence.”
