Job creation, value chain devt to dominate discussions at footwear, leather expo

Organisers of the upcoming sixth edition of the Made in Nigeria Shoe Expo (MINSE 6.0), have revealed that it would bring together critical stakeholders in the leather and textile industry to have meaningful conversations on strengthening Nigeria’s leather ecosystem.
With participation drawn from relevant government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), the event will be held in Abuja, from December 4th – 6th, 2024, to address low-hanging fruits and profitable value chains across the leather industry in Nigeria.
Serving as West Africa’s premier platform, the expo brings together leather artisans, leather tanneries, finished leather goods producers, chemical and allied products manufacturers, textile manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers to collaborate and create synergy in ways beneficial to building areas of comparative advantage within the region.
Organised by LOGSAMES, the event will bring together over 50 diverse exhibitors and 5000 participants, including industry leaders, investors, policymakers and innovators to discuss challenges and opportunities.
According to the national coordinator, MINSE, Emmanuel Ugbodaga, delegates would include representatives from footwear, leather, and textile associations and cooperatives; commercial and trade departments of diplomatic missions in Nigeria; vocational and research institutions; MDAs and international development partners.
Themed: “Harnessing Niche Markets in Nigeria’s Leather and Textile Industry,” the expo also aims to examine future projections for the industry, allow international manufacturers access to leading leather and textile associations in Nigeria, provide access to willing agents for various products and services and identify niche markets for multiple chemicals, machines and spares needed by the local industry in Nigeria.
