Leadway Assurance harps on collaborative agribusiness

Leadway Assurance said it believes that agriculture sector holds so much promise for the nation’s economic revitalisation, but requires collaborative efforts of various players from its sub-sectors.

The collaboration, according to the underwriter, would unearth innovative strategies that could engender growth, development and viability of agribusiness in a manner that mirrors modern global trends.

The Commercial Director, Leadway Assurance, Gboyega Lesi, who made the observations, said the company’s belief in the sector is behind its resolve to organize the one-day seminar on modern strategies to boost agriculture investment.

Lesi noted that sourcing investments and holistic agricultural risk management have remained strong challenges affecting entrepreneurial success in the sector.

Working under the theme: “Using Crowdfunding Platforms to Invest in Agribusiness”, the one-day seminar is scheduled to hold in Lagos on August 16, 2019, and will draw frontline agribusiness experts as resource persons.

Among the speakers are Co-Founder/CEO, Thriveagric, Uka Eje; Managing Director, Farmcrowdy, Onyeka Akuma; and Co-Founder/CEO, Agrecourse, Ayoola Oluga.

Others, among the panelists, are Head of Agric and Micro Insurance, Leadway Assurance, Ayoola Fatona, and Executive Director, General Insurance, Leadway Assurance, Adetola Adegbayi.

He said that the latest contribution to the concerted national efforts to boost the agriculture value chain, through the breakfast seminar, would dwell on modern trends in investment and managing risks in the agricultural sector.

Lesi added that participants would be better positioned to reap from the business opportunities that have become available as a result of the on-going upside investment in agriculture by the government and the private sector.
