The NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) has rebranded with a modern corporate visual identity, aiming to enhance its position as a world-class provider of integrated shipping and maritime services.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NSML, Abdulkadir Ahmed, said this transformation is expected to attract foreign investments, foster global collaborations and create job opportunities, thereby driving economic growth in Nigeria.

At a press briefing themed: ‘Redefining Growth and Leadership: The New Face of NSML’, Ahmed stated that the updated visual identity aligns with the broader rebranding initiative of the NLNG Group, which began in 2024.

“The new logo embodies our core values of professionalism, teamwork, respect, excellence and care. It reaffirms our mission to provide cost-efficient maritime services in a safe, reliable, and sustainable manner,” Ahmed said.

He explained that the logo features an ‘advanced swivel’ in green, lemon, and blue, symbolising NSML’s agility, evolution and growing influence in the global maritime sector.

Ahmed emphasised that the company’s transformation will create new opportunities for Nigerian maritime businesses to integrate more effectively into international trade, logistics and energy transportation.

He also reaffirmed NSML’s commitment to developing the country’s maritime workforce, revealing that nearly 300 cadets from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) training programme have been trained on NSML vessels, with 200 earning certifications and 100 securing employment with the company.

He called for collaboration among stakeholders, including regulators, operators, and international partners, to build a robust maritime framework that strengthens Nigeria’s global presence.

Speaking on the significance of the rebranding, the General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development at Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Sophia Horsfall, said the milestone positions NSML to compete on a larger scale and redefine its role in the international maritime sector.

She said this signals the company’s readiness to compete, collaborate and contribute to advancing the global shipping industry right from the shores of Nigeria.

Horsfall underscored the company’s commitment to advancing the nation’s maritime industry by strengthening vessel management, marine training and consultancy services.

She also noted that the company has played a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s shipping landscape by developing a skilled workforce of seafarers who facilitate the safe and efficient transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) to global markets.

“Without skilled talent, ships cannot sail, ports won’t thrive, and international trade will be hindered,” she stressed.

Horsfall further revealed that NSML’s Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE) training and consultancy facility has earned multiple local and international accreditations, with efforts also underway to secure full accreditation from the United Kingdom Maritime and Coastguard Agency (UKMCA) to position it as a leading maritime training institution in Sub-Saharan Africa.
