In his homily, yesterday, during the outing service in honour of the late Akeredolu at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Owo, headquarters of the Owo Local Council of the state, Fagbemi stressed that the strides of the late governor in the aspect of security and infrastructure must be maintained.

The bishop, who emphasised the need for Nigerians to always seek God’s face and also appealed to the family to celebrate the life of their late patriarch, said: “It’s the nature of man to die. Aketi did his best, but God has taken him away. I want to appeal to you to celebrate his life and not mourn like unbelievers.

“The legacies expected to be delivered at the end of Akeredolu’s eight years must not be abandoned. Strive to continue with the good legacies of the late governor in the areas of security, infrastructure development, and taking care of the poor in the state.”

The late governor’s immediate younger brother, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the people for celebrating the life of the late governor.

He also affirmed the family’s commitment to continue to support the church and sustain the legacy of the late governor, who was the Chancellor of the Diocese.
