The African Peace Organisation (APO) is set to organise the 3rd edition of the International African Energy, Oil and Gas (IAEOG) Summit, where Nigeria is billed to participate to promote business cooperation, stimulate investment, and create jobs among African countries.

The summit, which seeks to address the challenge of poverty on the continent, is scheduled to take place in Namibia and is a follow-up to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

This comes in light of reports that in 2024, around 429 million people on the continent are living in extreme poverty, which has led to insecurity and conflict.

The Chairman of APO, Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima (retd.), and Noah Ajare, the Editor-in-Chief of African Peace Magazine (APM) UK, a member of APO, made this known in a joint statement on Monday in Abuja.

“We bring you compliments from the Chairman, Hon. Justice Suleiman Galadima JSC, CFR, OFR (Rtd.) and the Management of African Peace Magazine UK.

“African Peace Magazine UK, a member of the African Peace Organisation, has been publishing for well over 14 years, and we are committed to promoting peace, business networking, good governance, and improved living conditions for Africans.

“We are pleased to invite you to the 2024 International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit, an event pivotal for those eager to stay abreast of the latest trends, innovations, and opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

“The International African Energy, Oil & Gas Summit & Awards/Exhibition (IAEOG) is just a few weeks away, kicking off from the 22nd to the 30th of October, 2024.

“This premier event continues to grow remarkably each year, with over 2,500 attendees expected to converge from more than 50 countries under one roof.

“This event, a proactive endeavour supporting AfCFTA’s mission to forge regional value chains in Africa, aims to stimulate investment and job creation across the continent.

“AfCFTA’s ultimate goal is to unify approximately 1.3 billion people across Africa, with a collective GDP nearing US$3.4 trillion,” they said.

They also said the summit will bring together high-level executives, CEOs, managers, investors, the business community, government agencies, exporters, and importers from the oil and gas sectors across Africa and the world to deliberate on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition and the future of oil and gas in Africa.

The summit, themed “A Symphony of Progress – Harnessing Africa’s Natural Resource Development,” will be held at Hilton Windhoek, Rev. Michael Scott St., Windhoek, Namibia.

The event will feature panel discussions, presentations, exhibitions, dinners, a charity golf tournament, award presentations, tours, and a host of other activities.

It will be recalled that the 2nd edition of the IAEOG Summit took place in Angola between the 30th of November, 2023, and the 3rd of December, 2023.
