The Pastor-in-charge of Imole Oluwa Baptist Church, Ejigbo, Lagos, Moses Oke, has urged Christian fathers to play their roles as heads of their families by providing for their wives and children. They were also advised to avoid domestic violence in their homes.

Oke disclosed this last Sunday, in Lagos, while speaking on the theme, “Fathers As Kings Under The King Of kings.”

The cleric described fathers as representatives of God on earth and as such they should assume the godly responsibilities of moulding, guiding and providing for their families in order to have godly homes.

He added that a father is a king with authority to declare God’s power, which makes him as a priest and shepherd of the family.

“You are kings because of the power, positions God has given you and properties placed under your care. As a father you are representatives of God, a priest and a king with authority. Therefore, as God cannot abandon his own people, do not abandon your family because you will give an account to whatever you have done here on earth,” Oke said.
