Adamawa lawmaker provides fertilisers for 300 farmers
A total of 300 farmers from Adamawa North Senatorial District, Adamawa State have been supported with bags of fertilisers, to boost their productivity and scale up the attainment of food security in the country.
The gesture, courtesy of the lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Amos Yohanna, through the Federal College of Animal Health And Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Vom, Plateau State, was in conjunction with Tencom Integrated Services Limited.
During the distribution of the fertilisers, at Mubi, Adamawa State, the Chairman, Tencom Integrated Services Limited, Mr Abdulrazak Raji, while welcoming farmers, thanked the Federal Government for providing the fertilisers free, in a bid to boost agricultural production in the state.
According to Raji, fertilisers’ phosphorus content aids quicker growth of roots and the formation of seeds in plants. “Fertiliser deepens plant roots and boosts the ability of plants to hold water.” He also stated that plants’ straws and stalks are strengthened by the potassium in the fertiliser.
In his remarks, the Provost FCAH&PT, Vom, Dr. Jude Okpara, urged the farmers to make adequate use of the fertilisers in order to get the best result.
