Cleric tasks Tinubu on family farming to reduce food prices
The Bishop of Ibadan Anglican Diocese, Oyo State, Most Rev. Joseph Akinfenwa, has urged President Bola Tinubu to encourage family farming, to bring down prices of food items.
Akinfenwa made the call while speaking on the state of the nation during the Christmas serviceheld at the Cathedral of Saint James The Great, Oke-Bola, Ibadan.
The cleric expressed happiness that President Tinubu’s economic policies were beginning to yield positive outcomes in the oil sector.
He said: “The President should encourage every family to engage in farming.Once there is enough food, prices will just go away. Every family, even if it is gardening, I preach it to my priests, all of them know they must have a garden. Plant vegetables, those little things – carrots, tomatoes, it will bring the prices down. Number two thing, is let Mr. President and the leaders cut down their salaries.”
