Crescent Bearers to unveil mosque in Lekki
Crescent Bearers (1939) Lagos has concluded plans to unveil the acclaimed architectural wonder- The Crescent Bearers Mosque, Abijo, Lagos on November 13, 2022.
Feted by many architectural commentators, the mosque, which was handled and completed by Patrick Waheed Design Consultancy (PWDC), was donated to the Abijo community as part of The Crescent Bearers (1939) Lagos’s CSR drive to promote community-focused educational, religious and socio-cultural activities within the area.
From its inception, the Crescent Bearers (1939) Lagos has been a leading voice for the modern-day Muslim. Founded with the primary objective of promoting the attainment of Western education by folks of the Islamic faith, for their collective improvement and upwardly social mobility within a then-colonial society.
This was at a period when Muslims were often marginalised and not uncommonly ridiculed for their beliefs and cultural attachments. Since then, The Crescent Bearers (1939), Lagos has evolved into a large community, with influential members of the society from all walks of life, bound to a common cause.
Recognised for many philanthropic activities, the Crescent Bearers (1939), Lagos has committed itself to the cause of fostering positive and moral community development.
