2025 budget: Education ministry to spend N310m on fuel
The Federal Ministry of Education has proposed N310.2 million as expenditure to cover fuel costs for its vehicles and other machinery for the fiscal year. An analysis of the proposal before the National Assembly showed that fuel was categorised under at least four separate items.
For instance, the ministry has a request of N155.1 million as cost for ‘fuel and lubricants – General.’ A further perusal of the intended expenditure showed that the sum of N79.2 million was earmarked for ‘motor vehicle fuel cost.’
The bill also showed that the sum of N8.4 million would be expended on ‘other transport equipment fuel cost.’ The ministry is also seeking the nod of the National Assembly to spend the sum of N67.4 million for ‘plant/generator fuel cost.’It also allocated the sum of N77.5 million for ‘cleaning and fumigation services.’
