Anchor varsity harps on holistic, transformative learning
Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos, a faith-based institution under the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has outlined an ambitious vision for transforming education in Nigeria.
During a press conference ahead of the university’s joint fourth and fifth convocation ceremonies, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele emphasised the institution’s commitment to raising Godly leaders equipped with necessary skills to drive global change.
Beyond academic excellence, Bandele said the institution is about nurturing leaders with integrity, creativity, and a strong moral foundation to impact society positively.
Bandele outlined the various initiatives introduced by the school in its efforts to align its programmes with global demands.
While addressing the importance of discipline, the vice chancellor condemned vices such as examination malpractice, cultism, and substance abuse.
“We operate with zero tolerance for misconduct. Freedom here means responsibility, guided by faith and a commitment to integrity,” he said.
He further disclosed that the institution has set up a sexual harassment committee to address cases of misconduct swiftly.
“We are resolute in enforcing rules to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all,” he affirmed.
A total of 292 students from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sets across various disciplines will graduate at the event scheduled for Friday, January 10.
“Our graduates are not just academic achievers; they are equipped to transform society through faith, learning, and service,” he said.
