Company empowers 20 graduates with technical skills
As part of its commitment to youth empowerment and skill development, Nestle Nigeria recently graduated 20 young men and women from its technical training centre.
The ceremony, marking the first-ever graduation at the Flowergate facility, is part of the company’ efforts to equip Nigerian youths with essential technical skills.
The Flowergate TTC, launched in 2023, is part of the firm’s technical training initiative, which has been running since 2011. Since its inception, the programme has seen over 200 young Nigerians complete the rigorous 18-month curriculum.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria, Wassim Elhusseini, expressed pride in the graduands, noting that this year alone, over 70 skilled professionals have graduated across its centres.
According to him, the programme is not just about skills training, but also involves empowering young people to shape their future becoming catalysts for change.
By equipping them with critical technical expertise, Elhusseini said the company is opening its doors to personal growth and financial independence.
“Ultimately, this is a long-term investment in creating shared value, as their success extends beyond them, impacting their families, strengthening communities, and driving growth in the industry.”
The technical training programme combines theoretical learning with hands-on engineering experience, culminating in City and Guilds of London Technicians’ Certification, significantly boosting the employability of the participants.
