Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Kola Daisi University (KDU), Ibadan, Oyo State, Prof. Olajumoke Morenikeji, has restated the need for undergraduates to equip themselves with entrepreneurial skills, saying this is imperative to make them thrive in the world of work.

Morenikeji noted that entrepreneurial skill is not just about starting a business, but also equips students with a mindset to excel in any career and make them adaptable, innovative, and prepared to thrive in a rapidly changing global world.

The don stated this at the preparatory meeting for this year’s Private Universities Educational Forum. The yearly event will hold on February 14, at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan (UI).

She said: “The key purpose of the lecture on entrepreneurial skills is to lay the foundation for practical knowledge that students would acquire while studying. They will acquire major ingredients of industry practices, such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), basic book keeping of financial transactions, client servicing and customer relations, as well as marketing communications, among others.”

She explained that the lecture is aimed at stimulating interests of prospective students and their parents, while also encouraging institutions to strengthen their vocational training programmes.
