In its bid to engage critical stakeholders to pursue holistic and impactful solutions to issues in the education sector, a non-governmental organisation, Train The Trainer (TTT), is set to hold a summit on October 5.

The summit is aimed at empowering tutors committed to elevating African education to global standards, and preparing students with global competencies and skills to thrive in the 21st century.

The Convener and Founder, TTT, Dr Onyekachi Onwudike-Jumbo, said the event, which will be held yearly, would shape the future of teaching on the African continent.

She noted that sharing ideas is essential to fostering collaborations that can drive real change.

Onwudike-Jumbo noted that the summit is for those who have invested in the future of African education, and driven by the common goal of raising learning quality in the region.

“We’re calling on teachers, from early career educators to seasoned professionals, school owners, administrators, policymakers, government bodies, and education innovators, as well as parents to partake in the programme.”

Besides, she stated that the organisation is creating a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, bound by the goal of elevating African education to world-class standard.

She noted that the global demands of the labour market are rapidly evolving, with several graduates requiring vital skill sets in order to remain relevant across various industries.

Onwudike-Jumbo said the summit will ensure that students are prepared to take advantage of key opportunities, and remind educators about the essence of their profession.

“It’s an opportunity to ensure that students are not taught to fit into a box, but prepared for the wider work environment and aligned with the future of work expectations and recommendations. An opportunity to remind teachers of the nobility in this profession and encourage them to look beyond the now,” she stated.
