The Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA) Katsina State has announced plans to resume usage of its permanent site which was abandoned due to insecurity.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Armaya’u Bichi, stated this while speaking with newsmen on Friday.

Bichi said the school, which had been carrying out academic activities at its temporal site, relocated and began using the permanent site some months ago.

He lamented that the security situation in the area at the time forced the management of the institution to suspend the relocation to the permanent site.

He, however, said the security situation in the council area has improved recently and that the school would soon return to its permanent site.

Bichi attributed the reduction in security challenges in the area to the committed and collective efforts of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), among other security heads.

The university head said the institution would be holding its 9th convocation on Saturday, and that the school plans to relocate to the permanent site after the convocation ceremony.
