A philanthropist, comrade Samson Oliver has appealed to wealthy Nigerians to either remodel, repair or build schools to ensure that the poorest of the poor residing in rural communities get access to quality education.

Oliver who provided a 100 percent totally tuition free school for the poorest of the poor and homeless children in Lugbe Community, also remodeled two blocks of more than ten classrooms equipped with modern teaching tools, chairs, desks, computers among other school needs at the Christ City Global Missionary School.

Speaking at the inauguration of the school in Abuja, the philanthropist disclosed that the idea of remodeling the school to standard level with modern facilities and playground, was a way of giving back to the society as he celebrates his birthday.

According to him, one of his staff had identified the school being run by it’s founder, Mrs Carol Shallow single handedly and he was urged to assist in upgrading the school and appealed to well meaning Nigerians to also emulated such actions of either remodelling, repair or even build schools for rural communities to ameliorate sufferings of the masses.

Oliver pledged to build or remodel two schools in local areas yearly, noting that he would wish to see that Nigeria children have the opportunity of schooling in a conducive environment.

While appreciating the kind gesture, the founder of the school and a retired civil servant, Shalom, said she founded the school to help take children out of the streets.

She said the school is for all, including Christians, Muslims , Hindu or even those who don’t belong to any religion and the goal is to ensure that the less privileged children have opportunities of going to school free of charge.

She however, noted that one of the challenges of running the school is funding as she personally pay for everything and called on government to assist them with teachers and other basic needs.
