The qualifying examination for the 2018 Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics Television Quiz Competition is set to hold on Saturday, February 17 at designated centres nationwide.

Already, secondary school authorities across the country are besieging the Cowbellpedia Registration Portal to enlist their students for the competition as the February 11 deadline draws closer.

According to Abiodun Ayodeji, Marketing Manager of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, sponsors of the event, registration for this year’s Cowbellpedia competition is strictly online via the website: www.cowbellpedia.ng, and it is absolutely free. Each participating school, he further explained, is entitled to put forward five candidates who must be between 10 and 18 years old for each of the junior and senior categories. To encourage Girl Child Education, mixed schools are expected to nominate a minimum of two girls for each category to represent such school.

As an added value, the first 1,000 schools to complete their registration will be entitled to a free copy of the Cowbellpedia Compendium, a compilation of questions and answers of past editions of the competition. This is to improve proficiency of students in Mathematics and commemorate the 20th anniversary of Cowbell and Mathematics.

While urging schools and students to avail themselves of the opportunity ahead of the deadline for registration, Ayodeji advised that each school should nominate their best students to boost their chances all through to the final.

In registering their students, the schools should visit www.cowbellpedia.ng, and click on the link ‘Register your school’ for new schools to fill and submit the form while for schools that have registered from previous editions they should click on the link ‘Log In’. Ayodeji stated: “Ensure that you fill all the required fields and an email will be sent to the school and primary contact email address provided when filling the form. The link in the email received would be used to verify the email address. On successful login, click on ‘Add Candidates’ under ‘Candidate Management’, fill in the candidate’s information, upload the candidate’s picture and click the ‘Save Draft’ button. Save the draft information for five (5) candidates for each category before you submit their registration.”
