AHOSA celebrates 40, gifts laboratory items, honours teachers

Some officials of AHOSA1979/84 set with pupils of Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, Surulere, when the group visited the school to give them some gifts.

The premises of Ansar-Ud-Deen High School, Falolu, Surulere, Lagos, was aglow when the old students of 1979/84 set from different parts of the globe converged in the school in their old school uniform to celebrate 40 years of leaving school.

With Ademola Tajudeen Adediran as president and Barr. Aloy C. Abarah as general secretary, the set held its four-day celebration under the auspices of Ansar-Ud-Deen Old Students’ Association (AUOSA).

Beginning from Wednesday, October 9 to Saturday, October 12, 2024 with a church service followed by a career week and counselling for the current students, the group held a medical outreach that included the diagnosis and tests of blood-sugar, hepatitis, blood pressure among others for staff and people living within the school’s environ and also gave free drugs to those tested.

Apart from this, members also visited orphanages, the school for the visually impaired, and the deaf and mute to give them different food items, sanitary products and sums of money.

The Day 2 witnessed the set’s official presentation of a multi-million naira re-equipped and furnished biology laboratory to the school authority.

As a way of motivating teachers and students of both Junior and Senior schools to put in their best in their work and studies, different categories of awards and sums of money were given to some teachers and the best students of the year.

Others activities that made the celebration an unforgettable one included, family picnic at Eko Club, get-to-gather party and fundraising for the continuous support of school.
