In a bid to prevent infections, such as Staphylococcus aureus and candida, acquired from the use of unhygienic toilets, Shodan Pharmaceuticals Limited has launched the Sitfine toilet seat sanitiser spray into the Nigerian market.

Speaking at a press briefing on the launch of the product, Deputy President, Shodan Pharmaceuticals Limited, Mr Daniel Okeoma, said the product was inspired by the need to cater to the hygiene needs of Nigerians.

Produced by Excid Pharmaceuticals and distributed by Shodan Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Sitfine Toilet Sanitiser Spray is a clinically approved solution that protects against 99 per cent of germs on toilet seats, while neutralising offensive odours.

He explained that sanitiser is an effective way to maintain personal hygiene and protect oneself from germs and bacteria when using the restroom, adding that the product is not harsh to the skin or nose.

Okeoma said maintaining a healthy body would require deliberate consciousness to ensure the surfaces one comes in contact with in the course of using the restrooms are free of germs, as these germs are capable of impacting negatively on one’s health.

According to him, the product kills germs, has a pleasant scent, portable, is National Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and is dermatologically approved.

“Our goal is to ensure we reduce or curb the spread of infections. When people use the toilet, they may claim that it is neat but if observed closely, some germs can be left behind,” she added.
