Lawyer urges Nigerians to shun protest
A Human rights activist, Saheed Ajadi, has charged Nigerian youths to discontinue the protest, arguing that it is not a solution to the economic crisis. He also urged President Bola Tinubu to urgently establish a pricing structure to regulate the economic hardship.
While addressing the newsmen in Lagos, Ajadi said Nigerians should take a cue from recent events in Kenya, insisting that protest cannot be a solution to the economic crisis.
Ajadi, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party said the government must engage in local production to ease economic hardship. Warning against violence, he said: “We must face reality. The law should take its course in the country. Anyone who acts contrary to the law should be punished without bias. We have to face Nigeria and make it work, and that’s when true democracy can be in place.”
He advised the government to do better and stop borrowing. He also encouraged the government to expedite actions in infrastructure development, adding that the administration of President Bola Tinubu came to power at a time when the nation’s economy was almost at a precipice.
