Lawyers hold oil and gas conference

The 2018 annual retreat of Lawyers in Oil and Gas Network has been scheduled to hold between October 25 and 26 in Lagos State under the theme, ‘Sensitization on the Gas Flare Regulations 2018’.

The organizer of the retreat, Mrs. Raqeebah Oloko, stated in a statement issued last weekend that the retreat, which is the second in its series will educate lawyers in oil and gas on the recent federal government policies and regulations on gas flaring.

She added that a panel of experts in the sector has been put in place to examine the Flare Gas (and Pollution) Regulations 2018.

Some of the topics to be discussed during the sessions include ‘Gas Flaring: Oil Producing Communities’; ‘The Gas Flare Regulations 2018: Producers Perspective’ as well as The Gas Flare Regulations 2018: Legal Practitioners Perspective.’

Lawyers in Oil and Gas Network, is a non-governmental organization set up with the sole aim of developing the industry’s legal framework.

The network, chaired by the pioneer chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Section on Business Law (SBL) Mr. George Etomi, organizes conferences, retreats and trainings as part of lawyers continuing legal education.
