Meeting of National Council on Information holds in Asaba
The 46th meeting of National Council on Information (NCI) has been scheduled to hold in Asaba, Delta State, from Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29, 2016. The theme for this year’s council meeting is “Leveraging on Information and Digital Technology to Sustain the Change Agenda of Government.”
According to a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba, Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, explained that Delta State governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, will declare the meeting open on Friday, October 28, 2016.
Ukah said the Federal Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who is the Chairman of Council, will lead a delegation from the ministry and its parastatals to attend the three-day meeting. Other delegates expected are commissioners for information and officials from ministries of information and their parastatals from the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The National Council on Information is the highest policymaking body for information articulation and delivery in the country.
