Olowolafe family announce matriarch’s passing
The family of Olowolafe has announced the passing on to glory of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother and pillar of strength to the family, Mrs. Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe.
Making the announcement on behalf of the family, Olanike Anani, described the late Olowolafe as a woman of grace, compassion and steadfast faith. “Gbemisola dedicated her life to uplifting those around her. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet generosity touched countless lives and her legacy of service and love will endure for generations to come.
“She departed this world peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday March 11th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 63 years of age.”
“During this difficult time, we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support, prayers and condolences from friends and well-wishers across the world. We kindly request privacy as we come to terms with our loss and make arrangements to honour her life in a manner befitting her extraordinary impact.”
Anani said further details regarding funeral rites and memorial services will be communicated in due course and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
The late Gbemisola was married to Dr Tunji Olowolafe, a foremost industrialist, businessman and philanthropist, who is also the Chairperson, Deux Project and Chancellor, Ekiti State University
(EKSU).
