Yinka Baruwa has been named a finalist in the highly esteemed Black British Business Awards (BBBA), joining an elite group of leaders recognized for their exceptional contributions to their respective fields. The award organizers revealed the list of finalists yesterday, with Yinka receiving a nomination in the Financial Services Rising Stars category.

Yinka Baruwa is the Lead EMEA Credit Portfolio Manager for Distribution Finance at Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking sector. In her role, she oversees a ~$2 billion multi-products vendor portfolio, which includes marine, motorsports, industrial, and recreational vehicles industries across more than 15 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Her portfolio also includes managing online accounts in 14 different languages and funding in 7 local currencies, demonstrating her expertise in handling complex financial operations on a global scale.

With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Yinka’s impressive career includes four years at HSBC and six years at Wells Fargo. Her areas of expertise span Relationship Management, Strategy, and Risk Management within both Retail and Commercial Banking. Additionally, Yinka holds significant leadership roles as the Co-Chair of the Wells Fargo EMEA Black Connections Chapter and as a member of the Wells Fargo Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Council.

Yinka’s academic background is equally notable, with credentials from prestigious institutions such as Oxford and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her education and professional experience underscore her commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in the financial sector.
