The second edition of the annual Beyond Wealth Conference (BWC) is set to hold on Sunday, December 13, 2020. The event brings together corporate organisations and individuals with the sole aim of creating wealth for impact.

While last year’s conference had speakers like Oba Dokun Thompson, Erica Freemantle, Mayowa Oluyede, Ndidi Njoku, Anthony Osijo and Prof Nelson Phillips, it also saw the launch of the BW Scholarship.

This year’s virtual conference to be produced by Inspiro productions will have four speakers of international repute talk on several topics around the overall conference theme – Financial Freedom In Times Of Uncertainty. The speakers include Founder/Convener Beyond Wealth & Vine Health, Dr. Monica Alabi; UK Country Head, Brand South Africa, Pumela Salela; Property Investor and Developer Bimbola Osagie and back by popular demand Professor of innovation and strategy, Imperial College London, Nelson Phillips.

The Beyond Wealth initiative founded by Dr. Simisola Alabi recognises the importance of wealth consciousness, wealth planning and philanthropy by bringing together the best minds to share ideas and leverage their network to build their wealth.

The objective is also to give back and create an easier path for the next generation. The initiative has a scholarship programme that provides support for entry into selected universities for black students with the 2nd round of applications opening in November 2020; five slots are available per year for scholarship. The process is rigorous consisting of a round of short listing and panel interviews. The maiden edition had one successful applicant, Godswill Okundaye.

The scholarship is an opportunity for the brightest and most promising young people from black backgrounds in the UK to attend leading universities and study in a field of their choice. The applicants must be of black origin and must be in school years 11 or 12. They must also demonstrate a track record of hard work and dedication in their academics. Successful applicants are provided with relevant work experience, personal statement review and interview practice.
