In a bid to accelerate the economic inclusion of women in Nigeria and boost the beauty and jewellery business, Betty Jewellery Limited has mentored young ladies with entrepreneurship skills to run jewellery business on a small scale leveraging online.

Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Betty Jewellery Limited, Chioma Oscar Onu, disclosed this at the launch of its store in Lagos.

She said the launch of the store was part of her efforts to promote beautiful, confident and happy families in the society adorned with quality, affordable, beautiful and classic fashion items.

“The business is capital intensive in nature. But high exchange rate, inflation, theft, fake or sub-standard products by other manufacturers, among others, are the challenges of the business,” she said.

While noting that the firm upholds truthfulness and honesty in its transactions, Onu explained that the quality and durable products it delivers to its customers are mostly sourced from Italy, Brazil, lndia and Sweden.

According to her, she has been in the business for over 22 years.

She recalled that as a young girl, the wife of the late Odumegwu Ojukwu, Stella, who is now deceased, groomed her in the jewellery business for 15 years, adding that she remains very grateful to her for the knowledge and exposure.
